Our Story

Some things begin
with a big idea.
This one began with
a search.

Not a Google search. Not a scroll through a marketplace at 2am — though there was plenty of that too. This began with a feeling. The kind that settles in when you look around a room you've built with care and something still feels missing.

01

Chapter One

The Eye That
Started
It All

Before there were blankets, there were resumes.

For over twenty years, Kim sat behind a desk as a Corporate Recruiter in Memphis, Tennessee — the city that gave the world blues, soul food, and a particular kind of resilience that doesn't ask for applause. Her job was deceptively simple: look at hundreds of people on paper and find the one who just fits.

Day after day, year after year, she trained her eye without knowing she was doing it. She was learning to see quality. To feel compatibility. To recognize when something had flow — and when something was missing it entirely.

"I didn't realize it then, but I was training my eye. I was learning to spot quality, compatibility, and flow."

She had no idea she was also training for something else entirely.

02

Chapter Two

The Pandemic,
The Pivot,
The Beige

When the world stopped in 2020, Kim did what so many of us did — she went inward. She took interior design courses. She started transforming spaces. She fell deeply, completely in love with the idea of a home that felt intentional.

But then came the aisles.

She would walk through store after store — the big ones, the boutique ones, the ones that promise luxury in every tag — searching for that perfect accent piece. The throw that would anchor the room. The texture that would make everything click.

"I saw a sea of beige. But I was looking for soul."

The stores weren't made for her room. They weren't made for her story. And slowly, a quiet frustration became a loud realization: if she wanted something that reflected who she was, where she came from, and what she believed a beautiful Black home could look like — she was going to have to make it herself.

03

Chapter Three

The Happy
Accident

So she bought a pile of chunky yarn, found a tutorial online, cleared a space on the floor, and got to work.

Her first blanket was, by her own honest admission, a complete and total mess.

But somewhere underneath the tangled loops and uneven rows, a voice — quiet and stubborn the way only real conviction can be — said: You can do this, Kim. So she kept going. She practiced every single day. And as her hands worked the yarn, something unexpected happened.

"Finger knitting became my peace. My reset button. My prayer closet."

The stress she had been carrying — the noise of the world, the weight of grief, the hum of everything that needed doing — it melted. Loop by loop. It left her body. She had found something that was hers.

04

Chapter Four

From Hobby
to Fye

Then came the RBG Heritage Blanket — red, black, and green, bold and unapologetic and unlike anything sitting on any shelf in any store she had ever walked through. Her son saw it, picked up his phone, and posted a video to TikTok without much fanfare.

The internet had opinions. The blanket was fye. And the internet agreed.

But the moment that truly mattered happened not in front of a camera. It happened quietly, alone, with yarn in her hands and grief in her chest. Kim knitted through the loss of her dear "sister cousin," Sheila. She cried through the loops. She poured everything she couldn't say into every row.

"These blankets aren't just yarn. They are vessels of love — and every piece I send out is a part of that blessing."

When she finished and held it up, she understood something she hadn't been able to articulate before. This business is a gift from the Father Above. And she does not take a single stitch of it lightly.

The Philosophy

Cozy Culture

The intersection of Southern hospitality and unapologetic heritage.
The belief that your home should feel like a warm embrace from your ancestors.

🎨

Bold, Not Beige

Heavy textures, vibrant colors, and pieces that have a pulse. This is not about blending in.

🌍

Rooted in Culture

Our history, our music, our vibrancy — reflected in your living room, finally. Exactly where it belongs.

🧶

Made With Soul

Seasoning for your living spaces — adding the flavor that standard décor consistently leaves out.

A Note From Kim

You were always
supposed to
find us.

I am a recruiter who learned to spot what fits. I am an interior designer who got tired of empty aisles. I am a woman who made a messy blanket and kept going anyway. I am a daughter of Memphis — ten minutes across the state line in Southaven, Mississippi — and a believer that every Black home deserves something made with intention, pride, and love.

I am Kim. And I am honored — truly, deeply honored — to weave a little bit of that rhythm into your home.
